Swimming is an extremely popular thing to do in the Dallas area. With some of the top hotel swimming pools and waterparks, it can make for a lot of fun. But how do you keep them clean? How do you make sure you’re hiring a company that will make sure you always have water that is blue, clear and ready to swim in? That is why hiring a great company to provide commercial swimming pool service in Dallas is vital!

First off, you must hire a company that has all of the right certifications and has an understanding of water chemistry. This is important because anytime you have a large number of swimmers you are always going to have to be prepared for issues with water quality. At Weber Pools, we specialize in taking care of commercial swimming pools and we want this blog post to educate you on why we are the easiest choice for you when you’re looking for someone to take care of your pool.

Due to the number of swimmers you’re going to need to do your due diligence when hiring a company to take care of your pool. It isn’t always the easiest to find but we want to inform you on what you can do to make it easier. The following are questions you can ask when doing your initial research:

  • Do you currently take care of any commercial properties? If so, which ones?
  • How long have you been servicing commercial swimming pools?
  • Do you have any testimonials we can read?
  • What licenses, certifications, and insurance do you carry?
  • How many different people will be taking care of the property?
  • What makes you different from other pool maintenance companies?

Please also keep in mind that Weber Pools owns and operates a mobile filtration Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration trailer that comes to your residential and commercial property. We offer the Puripool Process and with this trailer, we can lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), waterborne diseases and so much more without draining the swimming pool. Commercial swimming pools are highly regulated for TDS and CYA levels in Dallas. By using our mobile filtration trailer you can rest assured that you will remain in compliance and we can filter out any waterborne diseases that are common in commercial swimming pools too. As an added benefit, there is no downtime with this service which means you can swim in the pool while it is being filtered. This service gives you drinking quality water in your swimming pool and conserves up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool.

When problems inevitably arise, the Weber Difference is that we are always easy to reach and ready to respond when you need us. Benefits of Using Reverse Osmosis Filtration On Your Swimming Pool

With major drought news hitting the headlines in Texas again, homeowners with swimming pools need to start thinking about how they can save water. One of the biggest ways to make an impact on our current drought is by not draining your swimming pool. A residential swimming pool can save on average 20,000-gallons of water in a 24-hour period and a commercial swimming pool owner can save so much more!

That’s why at Weber Pools we use Reverse Osmosis (RO) mobile filtration on your swimming pool water and we want this blog post to help explain to you how it works and why it’s the best solution for your swimming pool.

RO filtration might seem complicated, but it’s really quite a simple water filtration process. Reverse Osmosis has been used for numerous years to desalinate water and convert it to drinking water. Most commonly, people are familiar with the under the sink RO systems. They are extremely common but are also extremely inefficient when it comes to water conservation. Typically, an under the sink RO will waste seven gallons of water before it produces one good gallon of drinking water. The reason for this is due to water pressure. Simply put, the more water pressure, the less water loss.

Reverse Osmosis is a process in which dissolved inorganic solids (such as salts) are removed from a solution (such as water). This is accomplished by water pressure pushing the water through a semi-permeable membrane. The membrane only allows the water to pass through, not the impurities or contaminates (like calcium, total dissolved solids, cyanuric acid, waterborne diseases and salts). These contaminants are removed from the water as both of them are channeled into two separate systems. Ultimately, these contaminates go out a separate waste stream.

Our mobile trailers are completely insulated, they run twenty-four hours a day because they are no louder than an A/C unit.  They are equipped with a 3-Phase, 480V diesel generator, and we guarantee that the quality of water returning to your pool is better than tap. The way we do that is, you can actually drink the water returning to the pool!! Due to the fact that we have booster pumps in our trailer, the water pressure as it hits the membranes is around 200psi which equates to conserving on average 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool.

The need for this service has never been greater than now. The drought in Texas is the worst it has been in three years! The concept of mobile filtration has been around for decades and using it to purify swimming pool water is relatively new. When temperatures warm up, the risks of draining a swimming pool are high.  With our mobile filtration trailer, we can lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids, Cyanuric Acid and so much more in your swimming pool without exposing the interior finish!

So, why hassle with pumping the water from your pool, paying for the refill and then trying to figure out the complicated chemicals needed to rebalance your pool water, when Weber Pools can take care of it for you? In less than a day, we can filter your existing pool water and lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), phosphates, salt, bacteria, waterborne diseases and provide you with the best quality of water for you and your family to swim in!

Warranty Concerns With PebbleTec Swimming Pools

When installing a new pool there are many different interior finishes that you can choose from. If you decide to go with PebbleTec or PebbleSheen it is vital you familiarize yourself with their warranty guidelines. They are strict with them and your warranty will be voided if you don’t follow the directions carefully! Specifically, following the recommended startup procedures is extremely important because that’s where the biggest mistakes are made. In the end, this could be the difference between the warranty covering damage or not. The interior finish in the first month is extremely sensitive to water chemistry and falling outside the guidelines could void any warranty. That’s why we hope this blog post helps to inform you of the following:

  • The break-in period
  • Startup procedures
  • Full up
  • Proper water chemistry

Break-In Period

This is the time period directly after the interior finish was installed. This period ends as soon as the enhancing process is complete and builder turns it over to you for startup.

Start-Up Procedures

The startup process includes following all directions extremely close. In this period you will need to test your water chemistry frequently, brush the interior finish every day, and add all chemicals necessary to keep it chemically balanced. Since the interior finish develops most of its durability in the first month that is approximately how long the startup process will last.

Fill Up

This process includes filling the pool all the way up to mid tile line with no stoppage. YOU MUST FILL UP THE POOL WITH TAP WATER….. DO NOT FILL UP THE POOL WITH SOFT WATER AND DON’T STOP THE FLOW OF WATER BECAUSE THIS CAN CAUSE A “WATERLINE” MARK ON THE INTERIOR FINISH. At which time the pool is filled, you will also want to turn on the filtration equipment and run it for a minimum of five (5) days.

Proper Water Chemistry

After you fill up the swimming pool you will want to make sure the water chemistry falls within the acceptable ranges listed below for the first month:

  • pH – 7.0-7.4
  • Total Alkalinity – 70-100ppm
  • Calcium Hardness – 150-250ppm (this can be challenging in certain areas)
  • Chlorine – 1-3ppm
  • CYA – 30-50ppm

During this time you will also want to brush the interior finish three times a day for the first three days and twice a day for the next ten days! You also don’t want to use any pool cleaner with wheels because it can leave tracks. Do your best to adhere to the above values and recommendations because failure to do so will void the warranty and in the end burn a huge hole in your wallet!
