We Service Hot Tubs Too!

Many people are familiar with Weber Pools as a weekly service and maintenance company. However, with the Performance Pool Group and our other partnership agreements, Weber Pools has the resources to tackle any Dallas pool maintenance project in either a residential or commercial setting, as well as turn-key outdoor environments for our customers from start to finish: one bid; one foreman; and most importantly, one company standing behind the job. We hold all the required licenses, workman’s compensation and general liability insurance for your protection. But, did you know we also service hot tubs too?

Hot tubs are extremely popular and great for relaxation, staying warm and relieving sore muscles! The challenges many homeowners have with them is because the water is so warm they can be more challenging to take care of! To be honest, keeping it clean can be among the least favored chores around your home. If you do not have the proper balance of chemical levels in your hot tub, it will never be truly clean, and it could be potentially harmful to you and your family. Keeping the appropriate levels of chemicals in the water will make it easier on you when it comes time to clean your hot tub – so we recommend investing in an inexpensive water testing kit from your local pool supply store or home center. But, please be careful about adding chemicals because damage can occur if you add too much and that is easy to do with such a small body of water!

Cleaning your hot tub means buying the appropriate chemicals, and the type of chemicals that you will need will depend on the levels of chemicals already in your hot tub. The various types of scum that are found in the water is best diagnosed by testing with the kit mentioned above, or by taking a sample of the hot tub water to your local pool supply store, so that they can diagnose any problems with the water, and they can point you to the right chemicals for your particular situation.

That’s why, at Weber Pools, we can ease any concerns about the care of your hot tub from keeping it clean to handling any repairs that might be needed. In addition, by appointment, we also sell and install portable hot tubs and all maintenance products needed.

The next important step in maintaining a clean and healthy spa is to regularly check and clean the filters. You can do this in a variety of different ways:

The Quick Rinse

Most hot tubs use cartridge filters that can easily be removed and washed down with a garden hose. This type of rinse is recommended at least once a week if you use your hot tub regularly.

Chemical Soaking

You can buy chemicals in a pool store to soak your filters in overnight. Please be sure to read the directions and this type of cleaning should occur about 2-3 times a year or times when your hot tub is in heavy use mode.

Please be sure to inspect the filter pleats each time you clean them for tears. If this happens, you must replace the filter. To prevent downtime, having a second set of filters for you hot tub would be a good idea.

Because of our sister companies and affiliations we can cover all of the trades and keep it under one roof, with one payee and one supervisor. We are uniquely situated to complete your entire outdoor living project in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a pool remodel that we would like to highlight in this blog post to give you an idea of what we are capable of doing. This was a unique project because we don’t get asked it very often but they wanted to make their dive pool into a play pool. Basically, this required us to take out the 8′ deep end and make it 5′ instead. To make this happen we had to shallow it out along with a complete remodel. We also had the opportunity to set all new Jandy equipment too. The swimming pool industry is seeing more and more play pools because it gives families the opportunity to play games like basketball or volleyball in the swimming pool.

In addition we also set all new Jandy equipment which included a filter, pump and motor along with a heater. We also did a full new plumbing job with the equipment and pool. Check out one of our earlier blog posts on why we recommend Jandy products over all others.

Importance of Keeping Your Hot Tub Clean!

inground-hot-tubs-6

As we are now into fall season and cooler temps are just around the corner, if you’re fortunate to have a hot tub most people will migrate away from their swimming pool and spend more time in their hot tub. Hot tubs are great for relaxation, therapy with sore muscles, sore joints and of course for keeping warm when it’s cold outside. As much enjoyment that individuals can get out of using their hot tub, it is extremely important to take care of the water and filters. The following are a few of the necessary things to keeping your hot tub clean and ready to use:

  1. Change out the water regularly
  2. Clean your filters
  3. Monitor the chemicals and add what’s necessary at least once a week

Change Out The Water Regularly

Since you are dealing with somewhat of a small body of water, it’s best to always have fresher water when you can. With that said, we do recommend changing out the water every 4 months. It’s extremely easy to pump out the water and fill it up with fresh water. Keep in mind that as soon as you add the water, you should add whatever chemicals are necessary to keep it sanitary.

Clean Your Filters

All hot tubs are installed with a number of different kinds of filters to ensure that your water is always clean and safe for your use. These filters will remove any debris and other substances from your water. Everyone should monitor the filters for dirt and debris and the filters should be rinsed whenever necessary. This could be as much as a couple times a month, once a month or every couple of months. This is going to be dependent on what trees are near the hot tub and how much you use it.

Monitor The Chemicals And Add What’s Necessary At Least Once A Week

If you do not have the proper balance of chemical levels in your hot tub, it will never be truly clean, and it could be potentially harmful to you and your family. Keeping the appropriate levels of chemicals in the water will make it easier on you when it comes time to clean your hot tub – so we recommend investing in an inexpensive water testing kit from your local pool supply store or home center.
