Commercial Swimming Pool Water Refresh With Puripool!

Dallas Puripool Commercial Swimming Pool

In Dallas, commercial swimming pool water is highly regulated. It’s regulated for your safety and to keep Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and Cyanuric Acid (CYA) from getting too high and to make sure you are swimming in the best water quality. Trust us when we say, these regulations are for your safety especially with the number of bathers and high risk for waterborne diseases like crypto! So at Weber Pools, we would like to introduce you to Commercial Swimming Pool Water Refresh! It literally is exactly what it sounds like, we come to your commercial swimming pool and refresh the water!

How Do We Do This?

Well, we use a service we have already been providing in a slightly different way. We will come to your commercial swimming pool with our Reverse Osmosis (RO) mobile filtration trailer and we recycle the pool water for 12 hours. During this time we will lower Calcium Hardness (CH), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), phosphates, salts, and waterborne diseases to keep your pool looking great. The price of this service is $250.00 and we will lower all those levels as much as they will come down in a total of 12 hours.

Why Do You Need This Service?

As a commercial swimming pool owner, you will need this service because it will help you stay in compliance, it will keep your calcium levels down. It will also help prevent your TDS and CYA levels getting to a point where the city would shut you down. It will also keep better quality water in your swimming pool at all times.

About Weber Pools Puripool Service

The Puripool Process is more convenient, less wasteful, and puts cleaner, safer recycled pool water in your pool without exposing your plaster or pool shell to air and potential damage and this process is normally complete in less than 24 hours. The Puripool purification process pulls water from your pool and uses reverse osmosis, ultraviolet light and ozone to scrub your water clean and returns pure bottled quality water to your pool. Our Puripool process removes chemicals and impurities like cyanuric acid, phosphates, TDS, viruses, bacteria, allergens, calcium and other hard water minerals without the use of harsh chemicals that could be dangerous to pets and children and hard on pool components. Our process is so safe you can swim while we clean and polish your water and it saves about 85% of the water.

My Pool Water Feels Gross!

I don’t like the way I feel when I get out of the pool. Frankly, my pool water feels gross, why is that?

Now that spring is here, many people are looking for ways to get their swimming pool ready for the season! While you were swimming last year, if you noticed that your water felt old or disgusting it is now time to do something about it! First, we want you to think about everything that happens in a swimming pool….. Keep in mind, just because your pool water is clear and blue doesn’t mean it’s going to be great to swim in. Honestly, if you haven’t changed out the water in your pool for a while, you’re going to deal with any of the following in excess in your water….

  • Body Oils
  • Soap
  • Suntan oils
  • Suntan lotions
  • Dirt
  • Soils
  • Salt
  • Urine
  • Sweat
  • So much more

So, even though swimming can be a great form of relaxation, exercise, cooling off or entertaining friends and family you must realize your water will age! This means it isn’t going to feel great if you don’t change it out at least every two years. This is one of the main reasons why you might smell like chlorine when you get out, your skin will be dry, itchiness occurs and the dreaded red/stinging eyes occur. With that said, we want to examine why eyes turn red and it has nothing to do with high amounts of chlorine which most people think!

This might not be as common in residential swimming pools but If you choose to swim in a public (commercial) pool and you notice you have bloodshot eyes, it’s not because of the chlorine, rather URINE is what is causing them to sting and turn red!

The nitrogen in the urine combines with chlorine and it forms what’s known as chloramines and it’s the chloramine that causes your eyes to turn red! With this being said, an important tip would be not to swim in a pool with if you can smell high levels of chlorine because chances are it’s filled with high levels of urine! Bottom line, if you can smell the chlorine, stay out of it!

Chlorines main purpose is to clean out and prevent bacteria, E-coli, and algae from forming in the pool. It’s not meant to deal with urine.

That’s why with as many bathers as swimming pools have, it’s vital to change out the water in your swimming every two years (sooner for commercial pools). At Weber Pools, we highly recommend using our Puripool Mobile Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration system to combat this issue. It will lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and Cyanuric Acid.  Using RO filtration will also give you and your family the best quality of water to swim in which is much better than our tap. If your pool water feels old or disgusting we promise it will feel much better or even softer using our service! Remember, just because your pool water is clear and blue doesn’t mean it’s always the best to swim in. Remember, your best sign to change out the water is If you are always getting out of the of water feeling dry or itchy, IT IS TIME!

If you have questions about water quality or our service, let us know!

Reverse Osmosis Mobile Filtration For Commercial Swimming Pools!

A commercial swimming pool that is being used while the filtration process is being performed!

A commercial swimming pool that is being used while the filtration process is being performed!

Last year, we recycled numerous different commercial swimming pools with our Reverse Osmosis (RO) mobile filtration trailer for a variety of reasons. We’ve noticed an increase in these types of requests because, in Texas, commercial swimming pools are highly regulated due to the number of bathers. Not to mention, the cities have a lot more strict regulations when it comes to water chemistry in their swimming pools. Typically the following are reasons why a commercial swimming pool would be out of compliance:

  • High Cyanuric Acid (CYA) levels
  • High Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels
  • High Calcium Hardness levels
  • Presence of waterborne diseases

If any of the above issues are present, commercial swimming pools could be shut down until they are handled. Unfortunately, if it is in the middle of swim season it could mean downtime for the swimming pool, which is never great for the establishment or for those that want to swim in the pool!

Just because the water is blue and clear and is reading adequate levels of chlorine doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe to swim in. So, how do commercial swimming pools deal with increases in calcium hardness, TDS, and CYA? What happens when there is a waterborne disease present? Our fill water in Texas is loaded with calcium and other hardness minerals. As water in the swimming pool evaporates, these hardness levels will increase in the swimming pool fairly rapidly because they don’t dissolve and they do remain in solution. For commercial swimming pools, the most common delivery of chlorine is by liquid injection. This liquid is loaded with salt, which causes the TDS levels to rise as well in the swimming pool. At this point, the commercial property will need to change out the water in their swimming pool. When this time comes around (could be once per year) Weber Pools can come with our RO mobile filtration trailer to recycle the existing water in the swimming pool. This is extremely beneficial to your commercial property because of the following factors:

  • No downtime – swimmers can swim in the pool while it is being purified.
  • The interior finish is never exposed
  • The water after purification is much better than tap. It’s actually drinking quality water!
  • Water Conservation – we can conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool.
  • Lowers the chances of calcium buildup on the swimming pool if the process is performed regularly.
  • Removes waterborne diseases
  • Water quality is the best
  • Keeps your water within city and state regulations

Water Quality In Swimming Pools

11393801-beautiful-clear-pool-water-lit-by-the-sun-stock-photo-pool-underwater-swimming

Swimming in quality water is always critical but just because the water is clear and blue doesn’t mean it’s always safe to swim in. This thinking should always be more of a concern when you swim in commercial/public swimming pools. Weber Pools is a premier Dallas pool service administered by a staff with decades of experience in the industry. We are a Certified Pool Operator that serves the greater Dallas / Fort Worth area. We are literally a one-stop shop for all your pool needs — whether that consists of pool cleaning, repair or general pool maintenance. We specialize in both residential and commercial swimming pools. As for commercial pools, we work well with numerous management companies of some of the largest luxury developments in the DFW area. Weber Pools is familiar with the property management process, and we carry the current pool service licenses and insurances required by most commercial facilities. In addition, we also are aware of all the current and ever-changing health department swimming pool requirements and processes.

When it comes to quality, that word can go far beyond just the work that is performed. Everyone who hires a service company always wants quality but this also pertains to the water as well. We are committed to our service and to make sure your steps, benches and walls of your swimming pool are brushed and free of debris. Emptying the skimmer basket and pump basket along with skimming the surface of the pool to make it look clean always happens. Making sure there are adequate amounts of chlorine is always a must. We also make sure the pH is balanced too. But even when all of these are done, it doesn’t mean that the water is safe to swim in. This is where things can get confusing because even when the pool looks great and the chemistry is correct, there still can be issues and they might not be detectable with standard water tests.

Tap/fill water has been an issue in the past in California, Arizona, Texas and other states. The possibility of people urinating and defecating in the swimming pool is always a possibility. With that said, here are some precautions you should always take when you are ready to swim:

  • Rinse off before and after you swim
  • Never drink the water
  • If you see someone urinating or defecating in the pool, let someone know and exit the pool immediately
  • If you feel sick after swimming (intestinal) call your doctor and get tested for waterborne diseases

Another way you can make sure you are swimming in the best quality of water is by having Weber Pools recycle your swimming pool water with our mobile filtration system. We offer Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration for swimming pools. This process lowers calcium hardness, TDS, cyanuric acid and removes waterborne diseases without draining the swimming pool. The Puripool Process provides your swimming pool with drinking quality water for swimming in. If you’re interested in knowing more or having us test your water, contact us today!

Can You Recycle Swimming Pool Water?

11113817_1610596785850569_8592192797884970796_n

The simple answer to this question is yes! The other question would be why would you need to recycle swimming pool water? The answer to these questions and how we do it will be answered in this blog post. If you have a swimming pool this is a service you will definitely want to know more about. It will save you time, money and swimming in pools with recycled swimming pool water are a lot more fun.

As a swimming pool owner, due to evaporation, you will need to add water to your swimming pool from time to time. During the long hot summer months, the amount of water you will be adding will increase due to increased evaporation. Our water in the Dallas area is loaded with calcium, magnesium, and other hardness minerals. When you introduce this water into your swimming pool, the hardness content in the water will increase. It increases because as water evaporates, the hardness minerals remain in solution and gradually build up. Unfortunately, as these minerals build up they will start scaling your tile, the liner of the swimming pool, filtration equipment, spillways and decorative water features. Soon, your backyard paradise will be covered with calcium flakes that can be extremely hard to remove. With that being said, to help combat this problem, we recommend changing out the water in your swimming pool every two years at a minimum. This will help prevent excess calcium buildup, struggles with maintaining proper chemistry in your swimming pool and most importantly your swim experience will be much better because of the feel of the water.

At Weber Pools, we offer a mobile filtration trailer that is equipped with six sets of Reverse Osmosis (RO) membranes that can filter calcium, magnesium, total dissolved solids, cyanuric acid, phosphates, salts and waterborne diseases without draining the swimming pool. There are two hoses that come out of the trailer which continually feeds the swimming pool water into the trailer while the RO membranes lower the hardness. This process will return drinking quality water back to the swimming pool, the liner will never be exposed and you can swim in the pool while the process is being performed. This process will conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool and will give you the best water quality to swim in. The benefits of using this process will help extend the lifespan of your investment, will allow you to conserve much-needed water and give you a much better end product than a drain and refill. Not to mention, we can filter most residential swimming pools in less than a day.

The Calcium In My Swimming Pool Is High, Now What?

Our mobile filtration trailer

Our mobile filtration trailer

Calcium hardness and swimming pools pretty much go hand in hand. Whether you are in the Southwest United States, The South or in the Texas area, dealing with calcium and other hardness minerals in our fill/tap water is something you’re going to need to deal with. Most swimming pool owners are aware that the pool needs some calcium hardness to keep the liner intact but with the hardness where it is in the Texas area, it isn’t uncommon to see calcium 5 times or more harder than what is recommended. So, the question becomes when this happens what should you do? This blog post will focus on those questions and it will explain what you can do about it without draining the swimming pool.

About every two years, Weber Pools highly recommends changing out the water in your swimming pool. Even though your water is clear and blue, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t loaded with contaminants and should be changed. The reason why this happens is as water evaporates in your swimming pool, calcium and other hardness minerals remain in solution and gradually increase. Along with calcium hardness you will also notice that total dissolved solids (TDS), cyanuric acid (CYA), salts and phosphates will increase too. At any given time, pool professionals when these levels get too high, will recommend a drain and refill. As much as we would agree that the water needs to be changed, how you do it is what we would like to educate you on. We offer a mobile filtration trailer that comes to your residence or commercial property and we recycle the existing water in the swimming pool. We use Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration to lower calcium hardness, TDS, CYA, phosphates, waterborne diseases and so much more without draining the swimming pool. The mobile trailer is completely self-contained, which means we run on our own power, it consists of 6 RO membranes to filter the water and two hoses which take water from the swimming pool into the trailer and the other returns the filtered (drinkable) water back to the pool. The following are some of the benefits of using our service:

  • We conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool
  • The liner of the swimming pool is never exposed
  • You can swim in the pool while the process is being performed
  • We can finish most residential jobs in less than a day
  • We give you a better end product than tap water

We’ve been offering this service for about 3 years in the Dallas area. We also travel in Oklahoma as well. So we ask that the next time someone recommends changing out the water in your swimming pool, that you call us instead. You will be much happier with the end product and the environment will thank you too!

Water Quality In Swimming Pools

check+the+pool+water+quality

Are you concerned about what you’re swimming in when you go to friend’s houses or swim in commercial pools, water parks or community pools? Well, we think you should be and we hope this blog post gives you some insight on the reasons why you should be and what you can do about it. Unfortunately, just because a swimming pool is clear and blue doesn’t mean that it’s always safe to swim in. There are a variety of waterborne diseases that can be present in swimming pool water and we want to make sure you’re safe as well as give you valuable information to think about before you swim in commercial pools. First and foremost, for kids it’s easy to swallow water and as a parent this needs to be your biggest concern. Educating your kids about this is extremely important because in large bodies of water, the following are the most common waterborne diseases:

  • Campylobacteriosis is a bacterium with symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever.
  • Cholera is a bacterium with symptoms of muscle cramps, vomiting and diarrhea.
  • Cryptosporidium is a bacterium with symptoms of diarrhea, stomach cramps, upset stomach and slight fever.
  • Shigellosis is a bacterium with symptoms of bloody stool, diarrhea and fever.
  • Typhoid fever is a bacterium with symptoms of fever, headache, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and an abdominal rash.

These waterborne diseases most commonly get into the water because of urination or defecation. As parents, when swimming in commercial pools this should be of a concern because even with high amounts of chlorine these waterborne diseases will not be killed. So, any type of oral contact could cause one of the above so we ask you to keep those symptoms in mind and if your children exhibit any of them, you will want to contact your doctor, urgent care or head to the emergency room.

Due to the fact that waterborne diseases and water quality issues have been on the news not only in Texas but other parts of the country, commercial swimming pools are highly regulated. To make sure your swimming pool water is of the highest quality and free of any waterborne diseases, Weber Pools exclusively offers The Puripool Process, which lowers the following:

  • Calcium hardness
  • Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
  • Cyanuric Acid (CYA)
  • Salts
  • Phosphates
  • Algaecides
  • Removes waterborne diseases

Why We Chose To Be A Puripool Service Provider

IMG_1402

About three years ago we gave serious consideration to expanding our weekly service and maintenance business in the Dallas area. We specialize in wide variety of backyard needs but due to the drought and water quality issues we felt the need to expand our business so we bought our first mobile filtration trailer from Pure Water Industries in San Diego. The mobile trailer is equipped with a large Reverse Osmosis (RO) machine that has the ability to lower calcium hardness, total dissolved solids (TDS), cyanuric acid (CYA), phosphates, salts, waterborne diseases and so much more. It runs on its own power and can filter residential or commercial swimming pools day or night because it’s insulated and no louder than an AC unit when it is running. We can finish most residential jobs in less than a day and you can swim in the pool while the process is being performed.

As a Puripool Service Provider, we felt it was a good addition to the Dallas/Oklahoma market because we have had drought issues and due to the high number of fiberglass and vinyl liner pools (which are dangerous to drain) we knew this was a smart choice. Our water coming out of the tap is well over 300 parts per million (ppm) and most swimming pool technicians and pool stores will start recommending draining your swimming pool when it gets to be 600ppm and higher. As your pool water evaporates, the calcium and other hardness minerals remain in solution. When they build up, calcium will stain the tile, liner of your pool and your filtration equipment. At this point, you can drain it and refill it with moderately hard water or Weber Pools can come to your residence or commercial property and recycle it. If you choose to recycle your swimming pool, we will conserve up to 85% of the water and will leave you with drinking quality water in your swimming pool. Keep in mind, this process can be performed all year round, it never exposes the liner, which prevents possible collapse or cracking of the plaster, and the water quality will be much more enjoyable to swim in.

There has also been numerous issues with public pools and water quality. Specifically, the issue of waterborne diseases because individuals will urinate or defecate in the swimming pool. If this were to happen, it would be possible to filter our the most common waterborne disease cryptosporidium with our mobile filtration trailer, which not only saves the water but also time and money. For us, having the opportunity to provide swimming pool owners with a smart alternative and working with a great group of Service Providers all over the country made this an easy decision for us. So next time it’s time to change out the water in your swimming pool, call us instead so we can provide you with a much better service!
