There has been quite a lot of concern over the past couple of months about swimming in commercial swimming pools. Most people don’t think much about it because when the water is blue and clear they think everything is fine. The challenge with that thinking is you have no idea what could happen in that pool even with appropriate levels of sanitation. As for commercial properties that fail inspections, the biggest question is what to do now? The typical solution is to drain and refill a swimming pool because as stated above even with adequate amounts of chlorine these waterborne diseases won’t go away. This means downtime for the commercial property, as well as, the risk of damaging the surface of the swimming pool.
Due to extreme use, high levels of chlorine injection and our hard water in the Dallas/Oklahoma area it poses numerous problems for commercial swimming pools. Calcium hardness, total dissolved solids (TDS) and cyanuric acid (stabilizer) will rise quickly and put a commercial swimming pool at risk for being out of compliance. Weber Pools is a Greater Dallas/Fort Worth pool service company that specializes in working with commercial properties. We work well with numerous management companies of some of the largest luxury developments in the DFW area. Weber Pools is familiar with the property management process, and we carry the current pool service licenses and insurances required by most commercial facilities. In addition, we also are aware of all the current and ever-changing health department swimming pool requirements and processes.
So what happens when calcium levels rise or if TDS levels are above what is normally recommended? Typically, commercial swimming pools are larger which makes a drain and refill a several day process, it means downtime for the pool and because of the amount of water, there is always a risk of damaging the surface of the swimming pool. That’s why we use the Puripool Process which can help with the following:
- Water Conservation – Saving a precious, and limited, resource
- Less Chemical Demand and greater equipment reliability
- No Down Time – Pool can remain open during treatment
- Plaster is not exposed or compromised
- Soft-water swimming experience
The Puripool Process lowers and removes the following:
- Calcium Hardness
- Cyanuric Acid
- Borates
- Salt
- Iron
- Copper
- Magnesium
- Algaecides
- Sequestering Agents
- Phosphates
- Bacteria and Viruses
- Total Dissolved Solids
In the past couple of weeks, we have had the opportunity to purify two different commercial swimming pools that totaled 70,000 gallons of water. We were able to lower calcium hardness, total dissolved solids, cyanuric acid and waterborne diseases without draining the swimming pool. By recycling their water, both swimming pools were left with perfect water chemistry. Some of the other benefits of using our services are the residents were able to use the swimming pool while the process was performed!!
Please keep in mind that Weber Pools offers this service in the Dallas Fort Worth area and in parts of Oklahoma as well. We ask that you think twice before you drain your swimming pool and call us for a consultation first. Our goal is to provide you with perfect water and reduce the risks of damaging your liner!
