Weber Pools Commercial Pool Service

Water Quality In Commercial Swimming Pools Is Important

We are well into summer, which means so is heavy public swim season in the Dallas Ft. Worth area. Swimming in water parks, hotels, resorts, apartment complexes and any other commercial swimming pool can be a lot of fun but the challenge will always be wondering whether or not it is clean? Anytime you have large bodies of water, numerous swimmers and especially children, you never know what you are swimming in! Keep in mind that just because the water is blue, it doesn’t always mean that it’s safe to swim in and at Weber Pools, we are concerned about your safety! We have been servicing swimming pools for twenty plus years and most of our staff has been with us for ten years or longer. The biggest key for us is to make sure you’re swimming in a pool that is sanitary and free of any contaminants. We do that by offering the following services:

  • Commercial Swimming Pool Maintenance and Repair
  • Puripool
  • Any many more

Commercial Swimming Pool Maintenance and Repair

In addition, there are no hidden costs that will arise aside from unexpected repairs that are unfortunately out of our control. We have set up our bids this way so that budget projection will be less of a headache.

Puripool

The other service that we offer and what has truly taken the residential and commercial swimming pool industry by storm is the Puripool Process. It’s an alternative to draining a swimming pool by recycling the water instead! If you were swimming in a community pool, wouldn’t you want the water to perfect? If the answer to that question is yes, then we have the perfect solution for you!

Due to high use and sanitation requirements, total dissolved solids (TDS) and hardness minerals in commercial swimming increase at a much faster rate than residential swimming pools. The chances of people urinating in the swimming pool or even pooping do happen which can lead to waterborne diseases but with Puripool Mobile Filtration all of this can go away without draining the swimming pool or losing any swim time. Our mobile filtration system comes to you and lowers calcium hardness, total dissolved solids, cyanuric acid, phosphates, salts and so much more including getting rid of waterborne diseases! So, instead of wasting all that water because someone pooped in the pool or the solid levels are too high, call us so we can help you get back on track without shutting down the swimming pool or wasting the water!

Why Recycling Pool Water is Better Than Draining!

Puripool Mobile Trailer

What is the Puripool Process?

The Puripool Process is an innovative method of recycling pool water through reverse osmosis filtration, UV filtration, and Ozonation. Puripool will remove Cyanuric acid, Calcium and other hard water minerals, excess TDS, Salt, Viruses, Bacteria, and Allergens. The processed water when returned to your pool is bottled water quality, safer, cleaner and healthier than your pool water has ever been.

Why should I use the PuriPool process?

  • Puripool is Eco-friendly, conserving a precious resource – WATER.
  • Puripool makes your water better than tap water.
  • Puripool is economical, the cost is similar to having your pool drained and re-filled.
  • Puripool removes harmful contaminants.
  • Puripool keeps your pool full of water guarding it against floating our exposing plaster to air.
  • Puripool usually takes less than 24 hours and you can swim while it is cleaning.

From the day your pool is first filled, it is often above the standards for pool water chemistry in Calcium Hardness (200 to 400 parts per million, or ppm) and continues to increase as you remove water by getting out of the pool, splashing or evaporation. To replenish this lost water, new water is added and additional hard water is introduced; raising the concentration levels of this hard water (predominantly Calcium and Magnesium) and creating a higher level of these minerals. This level increases, creating such hard water that your chemicals can no longer do their job, dictating the need for higher chemical levels to keep the pool safe. Additionally, scale builds on your interior finish, tile, pool plumbing, and equipment, which can lead to failure and expensive repairs!

In the past, the water was dumped down the drain and since the average pool has 20,000 gallons of water in it this is a huge waste of water. Whereas, ‘The Puripool™ Process” allows us to provide the solution to remove Calcium Hardness and Total Dissolved Solids from all swimming pools, residential or commercial without draining it. As pool water evaporates and time passes, your relaxing, inviting swimming pool becomes more work to maintain and the water becomes less sanitary.

In less than a day, our mobile filtration unit will lower or remove the Total Dissolved Solids, Calcium, excess Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid), Phosphates, Nitrates, Viruses, etc. We will give you back a clean, healthy pool; all while conserving nearly 85% of your existing water. Your pool will be as pure as if you had filled it with bottled drinking water!

So, why not take the step today to swim in the best water quality possible? Contact us today for a quote and we promise you will not only love the way the water looks but how it feels too!

Got High Calcium Levels In Your Swimming Pool, You’ve Got Problems

Puripool Weber Pools

Don’t Drain Your Swimming Pool, Recycle Instead With Puripool

When it comes to owning a residential or commercial swimming pool, there are many dangers of having high levels of Calcium Hardness (CH) levels in your swimming pool! When it comes to calcium in tap water there are certain places in the country that have much more than others. Dallas and San Antonio are definitely some of them. In those places, the calcium coming out of the tap water is on the higher end of what is recommended for a swimming pool but it’s important to note that swimming pools need a certain amount of calcium to keep the interior finish intact. It is when those levels get too high that challenges occur. For swimming pools, the standard and recommended amount of Calcium Hardness (CH) in the swimming pool industry are between 200 – 400 parts per million (ppm) but in our area, the calcium levels coming out of the tap is 300ppm and higher! The challenges for residential and commercial swimming pool owners is when calcium levels get too high in their swimming pool. When these levels continue to climb scaling occurs on the water tile line, the interior finish, filtration equipment, decorative water features, spillways, and salt chlorinators (if you have one). It can also be challenging to manage the water chemistry too! If you happen to have a saltwater chlorinator, high levels of calcium hardness will prevent it from functioning properly and if any of this occurs it can not only be tough to look out but also expensive to remove. So, swimming pool owners should think about changing out the water in their swimming pools every couple of years!

So what happens when calcium levels get too high? The simple answer is it must be lowered from the swimming pool water. At this point you can choose to drain and refill your swimming pool which takes 2-3 days, it can damage your interior finish and you will be filling it back up with Dallas’s hard water or you can recycle it using The Puripool Process.  At Weber Pools, we offer Reverse Osmosis (RO) mobile filtration to lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), phosphates, salts, and waterborne diseases without draining the swimming pool. This service puts drinking quality water back in your swimming pool and you can swim in the pool while it is being filtered. Not to mention, we conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool which is great for water conservation.

As a residential or commercial swimming pool owner, if you want to swim in the best water quality this summer the answer is simple…. Weber Pools is committed to providing you with not only excellent water quality but also water that is more fun to swim in. If you should have any questions about how our service works, please contact us today!

Dangers of Draining A Swimming Pool

In the swimming pool industry, pool professionals will recommend a drain and refill when any of the following occur:

  1. High levels of Calcium Hardness
  2. High levels of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
  3. High levels of Cyanuric Acid (CYA)
  4. Presence of a waterborne disease
  5. Your water is “old”
  6. The chemicals aren’t working as efficiently as they could

If you take a water sample into a pool store and haven’t changed out the water in quite some time, chances are they are going to recommend a drain and refill. It’s extremely common and we are writing to blog post for you because it’s dangerous to drain a swimming pool and we want to highlight what those are. In the picture above you can see that this swimming pool floated.

Why do pools float?

The most common types of pools to float are gunite swimming pools. This occurs because any vessel, underneath the ground, can float with enough water pressure pushing on it. Hydrostatic pressure, or water pushing upwards, is the reason why pools can pop up out of the ground. As crazy as this might seems it can happen and is the risk you take by draining your swimming pool. That’s why a gunite pool that might have cost you $40K brand new to construct will now cost $55K or more to replace. So the question we have for you is, “Is it worth it?” Is running the risk of spending fifty-five thousand dollars worth it when there is a much better solution?

Pools get drained all the time and depending on the time of year the risks of damaging the interior finish is higher. That’s why if a pool professional recommends a drain and refill we suggest looking into options and here’s why….

Draining a residential or commercial swimming pool can take days which means unnecessary downtime for your swimming pool as well as disappointed residents or guests if it’s a commercial swimming pool. It means filling the swimming pool back up with Dallas’s moderately hard water (approximately 300 parts per million) and it also means poor water quality. At Weber Pools, we are aware of all of these and want to offer you a much better solution that reduces the risk of floating and other damage. This solution also puts the best quality of water back in your swimming pool and doesn’t require the pool to be drained.

We offer The Puripool Process which is an alternative to a drain and refill that uses Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration to lower Calcium Hardness, TDS, CYA, salts and so much more. By using this service we can not only give you and your family the best water to swim in but it also keeps the water in the pool which means NO FLOATING or DOWNTIME.

If this sounds interesting to you, please contact us today and you will have the opportunity to swim in the best water possible!

Dangers Of High Calcium Hardness Levels In Your Swimming Pool

If you own a residential or commercial swimming pool in the Dallas area, you’re going to need to deal with calcium in your swimming pool. In our area, Calcium Hardness (CH) can be measured coming out of the tap at 300 parts per million (ppm) and higher. In the swimming pool industry, your pool is recommended to have between 200 and 400ppm. With that said, when you fill up your swimming pool with our tap water you are already close to the upper edge of what is recommended and since this number will only climb we feel it is important to discuss what the dangers of high Calcium Hardness levels in your swimming pool!

In the swimming pool industry, pool professionals will recommend draining and refilling your swimming pool every two to three years to prevent excess levels of calcium, magnesium and other hardness minerals from scaling your interior finish and filtration equipment. So, how does this happen? Well, when pool water evaporates, the calcium will remain in solution and gradually build up in concentration. When this happens, calcium will eventually scale your water tile line, decorative water features, the interior finish, and your filtration equipment. This is not only visibly unappealing when it happens but can also be extremely costly to remove. At Weber Pools, we are committed to providing you with not only the best-looking swimming pool but one that also has the best water quality too! That is why we offer a revolutionary filtration process that not only lowers CH but also gives you the best water quality to swim in!

As a Service Provider of Pure Water Industries, we proudly offer The Puripool Process. This is a mobile filtration service that comes to your residential or commercial swimming pool and recycles your pool water onsite with Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration. RO will lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), salts, phosphates, waterborne diseases, and so much more without draining the swimming pool. Not only do we conserve 85% of the existing water (which is great during the drought) but we also put drinking quality water back in your swimming pool. This will make it easier to manage your swimming pool and if is performed every couple of years, it will make it easier to manage your water chemistry too!

Please keep in mind a standard drain and refill will not only waste the water but put moderately hard water back in your swimming pool. By using RO filtration we can easily take your calcium down to 150ppm which will give you better water quality and comfortability. Please keep in mind, RO filtration can be performed on most pools including saltwater. If you should have any questions about this service, please contact us today to learn more!

My Pool Water Feels Gross!

I don’t like the way I feel when I get out of the pool. Frankly, my pool water feels gross, why is that?

Now that spring is here, many people are looking for ways to get their swimming pool ready for the season! While you were swimming last year, if you noticed that your water felt old or disgusting it is now time to do something about it! First, we want you to think about everything that happens in a swimming pool….. Keep in mind, just because your pool water is clear and blue doesn’t mean it’s going to be great to swim in. Honestly, if you haven’t changed out the water in your pool for a while, you’re going to deal with any of the following in excess in your water….

  • Body Oils
  • Soap
  • Suntan oils
  • Suntan lotions
  • Dirt
  • Soils
  • Salt
  • Urine
  • Sweat
  • So much more

So, even though swimming can be a great form of relaxation, exercise, cooling off or entertaining friends and family you must realize your water will age! This means it isn’t going to feel great if you don’t change it out at least every two years. This is one of the main reasons why you might smell like chlorine when you get out, your skin will be dry, itchiness occurs and the dreaded red/stinging eyes occur. With that said, we want to examine why eyes turn red and it has nothing to do with high amounts of chlorine which most people think!

This might not be as common in residential swimming pools but If you choose to swim in a public (commercial) pool and you notice you have bloodshot eyes, it’s not because of the chlorine, rather URINE is what is causing them to sting and turn red!

The nitrogen in the urine combines with chlorine and it forms what’s known as chloramines and it’s the chloramine that causes your eyes to turn red! With this being said, an important tip would be not to swim in a pool with if you can smell high levels of chlorine because chances are it’s filled with high levels of urine! Bottom line, if you can smell the chlorine, stay out of it!

Chlorines main purpose is to clean out and prevent bacteria, E-coli, and algae from forming in the pool. It’s not meant to deal with urine.

That’s why with as many bathers as swimming pools have, it’s vital to change out the water in your swimming every two years (sooner for commercial pools). At Weber Pools, we highly recommend using our Puripool Mobile Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration system to combat this issue. It will lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and Cyanuric Acid.  Using RO filtration will also give you and your family the best quality of water to swim in which is much better than our tap. If your pool water feels old or disgusting we promise it will feel much better or even softer using our service! Remember, just because your pool water is clear and blue doesn’t mean it’s always the best to swim in. Remember, your best sign to change out the water is If you are always getting out of the of water feeling dry or itchy, IT IS TIME!

If you have questions about water quality or our service, let us know!

Reverse Osmosis Mobile Filtration For Commercial Swimming Pools!

A commercial swimming pool that is being used while the filtration process is being performed!

A commercial swimming pool that is being used while the filtration process is being performed!

Last year, we recycled numerous different commercial swimming pools with our Reverse Osmosis (RO) mobile filtration trailer for a variety of reasons. We’ve noticed an increase in these types of requests because, in Texas, commercial swimming pools are highly regulated due to the number of bathers. Not to mention, the cities have a lot more strict regulations when it comes to water chemistry in their swimming pools. Typically the following are reasons why a commercial swimming pool would be out of compliance:

  • High Cyanuric Acid (CYA) levels
  • High Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels
  • High Calcium Hardness levels
  • Presence of waterborne diseases

If any of the above issues are present, commercial swimming pools could be shut down until they are handled. Unfortunately, if it is in the middle of swim season it could mean downtime for the swimming pool, which is never great for the establishment or for those that want to swim in the pool!

Just because the water is blue and clear and is reading adequate levels of chlorine doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe to swim in. So, how do commercial swimming pools deal with increases in calcium hardness, TDS, and CYA? What happens when there is a waterborne disease present? Our fill water in Texas is loaded with calcium and other hardness minerals. As water in the swimming pool evaporates, these hardness levels will increase in the swimming pool fairly rapidly because they don’t dissolve and they do remain in solution. For commercial swimming pools, the most common delivery of chlorine is by liquid injection. This liquid is loaded with salt, which causes the TDS levels to rise as well in the swimming pool. At this point, the commercial property will need to change out the water in their swimming pool. When this time comes around (could be once per year) Weber Pools can come with our RO mobile filtration trailer to recycle the existing water in the swimming pool. This is extremely beneficial to your commercial property because of the following factors:

  • No downtime – swimmers can swim in the pool while it is being purified.
  • The interior finish is never exposed
  • The water after purification is much better than tap. It’s actually drinking quality water!
  • Water Conservation – we can conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool.
  • Lowers the chances of calcium buildup on the swimming pool if the process is performed regularly.
  • Removes waterborne diseases
  • Water quality is the best
  • Keeps your water within city and state regulations

Water Quality In Swimming Pools

11393801-beautiful-clear-pool-water-lit-by-the-sun-stock-photo-pool-underwater-swimming

Swimming in quality water is always critical but just because the water is clear and blue doesn’t mean it’s always safe to swim in. This thinking should always be more of a concern when you swim in commercial/public swimming pools. Weber Pools is a premier Dallas pool service administered by a staff with decades of experience in the industry. We are a Certified Pool Operator that serves the greater Dallas / Fort Worth area. We are literally a one-stop shop for all your pool needs — whether that consists of pool cleaning, repair or general pool maintenance. We specialize in both residential and commercial swimming pools. As for commercial pools, we work well with numerous management companies of some of the largest luxury developments in the DFW area. Weber Pools is familiar with the property management process, and we carry the current pool service licenses and insurances required by most commercial facilities. In addition, we also are aware of all the current and ever-changing health department swimming pool requirements and processes.

When it comes to quality, that word can go far beyond just the work that is performed. Everyone who hires a service company always wants quality but this also pertains to the water as well. We are committed to our service and to make sure your steps, benches and walls of your swimming pool are brushed and free of debris. Emptying the skimmer basket and pump basket along with skimming the surface of the pool to make it look clean always happens. Making sure there are adequate amounts of chlorine is always a must. We also make sure the pH is balanced too. But even when all of these are done, it doesn’t mean that the water is safe to swim in. This is where things can get confusing because even when the pool looks great and the chemistry is correct, there still can be issues and they might not be detectable with standard water tests.

Tap/fill water has been an issue in the past in California, Arizona, Texas and other states. The possibility of people urinating and defecating in the swimming pool is always a possibility. With that said, here are some precautions you should always take when you are ready to swim:

  • Rinse off before and after you swim
  • Never drink the water
  • If you see someone urinating or defecating in the pool, let someone know and exit the pool immediately
  • If you feel sick after swimming (intestinal) call your doctor and get tested for waterborne diseases

Another way you can make sure you are swimming in the best quality of water is by having Weber Pools recycle your swimming pool water with our mobile filtration system. We offer Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration for swimming pools. This process lowers calcium hardness, TDS, cyanuric acid and removes waterborne diseases without draining the swimming pool. The Puripool Process provides your swimming pool with drinking quality water for swimming in. If you’re interested in knowing more or having us test your water, contact us today!

Can You Recycle Swimming Pool Water?

11113817_1610596785850569_8592192797884970796_n

The simple answer to this question is yes! The other question would be why would you need to recycle swimming pool water? The answer to these questions and how we do it will be answered in this blog post. If you have a swimming pool this is a service you will definitely want to know more about. It will save you time, money and swimming in pools with recycled swimming pool water are a lot more fun.

As a swimming pool owner, due to evaporation, you will need to add water to your swimming pool from time to time. During the long hot summer months, the amount of water you will be adding will increase due to increased evaporation. Our water in the Dallas area is loaded with calcium, magnesium, and other hardness minerals. When you introduce this water into your swimming pool, the hardness content in the water will increase. It increases because as water evaporates, the hardness minerals remain in solution and gradually build up. Unfortunately, as these minerals build up they will start scaling your tile, the liner of the swimming pool, filtration equipment, spillways and decorative water features. Soon, your backyard paradise will be covered with calcium flakes that can be extremely hard to remove. With that being said, to help combat this problem, we recommend changing out the water in your swimming pool every two years at a minimum. This will help prevent excess calcium buildup, struggles with maintaining proper chemistry in your swimming pool and most importantly your swim experience will be much better because of the feel of the water.

At Weber Pools, we offer a mobile filtration trailer that is equipped with six sets of Reverse Osmosis (RO) membranes that can filter calcium, magnesium, total dissolved solids, cyanuric acid, phosphates, salts and waterborne diseases without draining the swimming pool. There are two hoses that come out of the trailer which continually feeds the swimming pool water into the trailer while the RO membranes lower the hardness. This process will return drinking quality water back to the swimming pool, the liner will never be exposed and you can swim in the pool while the process is being performed. This process will conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool and will give you the best water quality to swim in. The benefits of using this process will help extend the lifespan of your investment, will allow you to conserve much-needed water and give you a much better end product than a drain and refill. Not to mention, we can filter most residential swimming pools in less than a day.
