Weekly Pool Service, The Best Investment For Your Pool!

Dallas Pool Service

An Investment In Your Swimming Pool

As a residential or commercial swimming pool owner, how do you take care and manage your swimming pool? Are you willing to check the water chemistry regularly, skim the debris out daily if necessary and do all the other things necessary to make your swimming pool look great? We recently had conversations with a variety of swimming pool owners who state, “The vacuum won’t stay on for more than 20 minutes, the motor clogs up, so I go in with a screwdriver to make it turn again…. and the dirt/ just won’t clear up all the way. I’m having to backwash it every day for about 2 minutes. I truly regret getting a pool! I feel so bad because my 7-year old boy really wants to swim and I just can’t get the pool right!” After this conversation, we found out he does have a pool service and quickly fired them!

Dallas Pool Company

Let’s be honest, taking care of a swimming pool isn’t as easy as it looks. Anytime you have a large body of water, extremely hot temperatures (the pool water is over 90 degrees) it becomes more and more of a challenge. Not to mention, dirt, debris, and everything else add up to making a swimming pool a nightmare for most people. But at Weber Pools, we want to make owning a swimming pool much easier on you and that’s why our weekly pool service and maintenance program is the best! The bottom line is, no matter how proud you are, if you have no clue how to take care of a swimming pool, you shouldn’t. To be honest, it’s not easy especially when things go wrong and the water temperature is above 90 degrees.

So, let us ask you a few questions….

  1. Do you know how much chlorine to add to a 20,000-gallon swimming pool to raise it from 1ppm to 5ppm?
  2. Do you know how much acid to add to a swimming pool with a pH of 8.2 and you need to lower it to 7.6?
  3. Do you know how to check for phosphates in your swimming pool?
  4. Do you know what to do when your Cyanuric Acid levels are above 100ppm?
  5. Are you willing to skim your pool regularly?
  6. Are you willing to vacuum it from time to time?
  7. Are you willing to brush the water tile line and interior finish of the swimming pool to prevent buildup?
  8. Do you know what to do when calcium starts to scale your tile and water features?
  9. Do you know how to backwash and when to do it?
  10. Do you know what to do when your plumbing is leaking?

If any of the above overwhelms you, then you need to hire a reputable weekly service and maintenance company that can help make owning a swimming pool easy. At Weber Pools, we offer weekly pool service and maintenance for both residential and commercial swimming pools. We also offer The Puripool Process which can help with calcium scaling too.

We would love to talk to you about your pool needs, offer you real solutions to meet those needs, while also saving you money. As pools become more advanced and technology-driven, the days of the old pool guy who showed up in flip flops and muscle shirts will be over. We believe we are a cut above most pool companies because we stay informed and educated about our industry. This is an important part of the Weber difference.

How Clean Is Your Commercial Swimming Pool Water

Cloudy Commercial Pool Water

Water Quality and Commercial Swimming Pools

If you frequent commercial swimming pools have you ever questioned the water you are swimming in? Have you ever thought about when the last time they changed it out, or if the water chemistry is balanced, or why the water is so cloudy? Depending on how busy the pool you are swimming in will always determine the water quality. Chances are, the larger number of bathers, the worse the water is. For example, chances are the water is worse at a high-end resort with numerous guests compared to an apartment pool but no matter the situation, water quality, and your safety should be yours and their number one concern.

Weber Pools is a Greater Dallas/Fort Worth pool service company that specializes in working with commercial properties. We work well with numerous management companies of some of the largest luxury developments in the DFW area. Weber Pools is familiar with the property management process, and we carry the current pool service licenses and insurances required by most commercial facilities. In addition, we are also aware of all the current and ever-changing health department swimming pool requirements and processes.

With this type of knowledge and experience, this has allowed us to not only take care of commercial swimming pools but also help them with their water quality. That’s why we want to highlight what happens at a high-end property with numerous bathers. If you are either at a water park or resort there are numerous factors that go into the clarity of the water. The following are a few of them:

  • Lotions
  • Suntan oils
  • Body Oils
  • Sweat
  • Hair Products
  • Makeup
  • Urine
  • Alcohol
  • Number of bathers
  • So much more

When this happens, it can cause the water to look extremely cloudy. The water might even look “old!” Typically, in water parks or high-end resorts, you are going to deal with the factor of urine because most people will not get out of the pool which can make your eyes burn. These factors, along with increasing levels of Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids, and Cyanuric Acid demand a water change. But do you really want to shut down your swimming pool?

The Puripool Process

At Weber Pools draining a pool isn’t necessary. The Puripool Process allows us to recycle your pool water onsite with Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration. This process will remove all of the above issues and bring your pool water back to life. You can even swim in the pool during filtration!

If you are curious to know how this service will benefit you, contact us today because not only will you see the difference in your water, but you will feel it too!

Why Recycling Pool Water is Better Than Draining!

Puripool Mobile Trailer

What is the Puripool Process?

The Puripool Process is an innovative method of recycling pool water through reverse osmosis filtration, UV filtration, and Ozonation. Puripool will remove Cyanuric acid, Calcium and other hard water minerals, excess TDS, Salt, Viruses, Bacteria, and Allergens. The processed water when returned to your pool is bottled water quality, safer, cleaner and healthier than your pool water has ever been.

Why should I use the PuriPool process?

  • Puripool is Eco-friendly, conserving a precious resource – WATER.
  • Puripool makes your water better than tap water.
  • Puripool is economical, the cost is similar to having your pool drained and re-filled.
  • Puripool removes harmful contaminants.
  • Puripool keeps your pool full of water guarding it against floating our exposing plaster to air.
  • Puripool usually takes less than 24 hours and you can swim while it is cleaning.

From the day your pool is first filled, it is often above the standards for pool water chemistry in Calcium Hardness (200 to 400 parts per million, or ppm) and continues to increase as you remove water by getting out of the pool, splashing or evaporation. To replenish this lost water, new water is added and additional hard water is introduced; raising the concentration levels of this hard water (predominantly Calcium and Magnesium) and creating a higher level of these minerals. This level increases, creating such hard water that your chemicals can no longer do their job, dictating the need for higher chemical levels to keep the pool safe. Additionally, scale builds on your interior finish, tile, pool plumbing, and equipment, which can lead to failure and expensive repairs!

In the past, the water was dumped down the drain and since the average pool has 20,000 gallons of water in it this is a huge waste of water. Whereas, ‘The Puripool™ Process” allows us to provide the solution to remove Calcium Hardness and Total Dissolved Solids from all swimming pools, residential or commercial without draining it. As pool water evaporates and time passes, your relaxing, inviting swimming pool becomes more work to maintain and the water becomes less sanitary.

In less than a day, our mobile filtration unit will lower or remove the Total Dissolved Solids, Calcium, excess Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid), Phosphates, Nitrates, Viruses, etc. We will give you back a clean, healthy pool; all while conserving nearly 85% of your existing water. Your pool will be as pure as if you had filled it with bottled drinking water!

So, why not take the step today to swim in the best water quality possible? Contact us today for a quote and we promise you will not only love the way the water looks but how it feels too!

How To Lower Calcium Hardness and TDS Without Draining The Pool

Puripool in Dallas

The Benefits of The Puripool Process

Reverse osmosis was first observed in the mid-1700’s and has been used successfully since the 1970’s to treat water. When it comes to swimming pools, pool covers can help with evaporation, but if you live in areas where the water is hard, you will need to change out your water every couple of years. Our technology can conserve up to 85% of the water in the swimming pool, which makes it an effective solution to a typical drain and refill.  Draining pools waste an average of 20,000 gallons of water and use another 20,000 gallons of water to refill-there is a better way!

At Weber Pools, our mobile filtration trailer utilizes Reverse Osmosis to lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), salts, phosphates, Cyanuric Acid (CYA) and other contaminants from the swimming pool. The trailers are completely self-contained and run on their own power. Two hoses come from the trailer and one is attached to a pump that takes water from the swimming pool into the trailer. The water is pre-treated before it contacts the RO membranes and then pure water is returned to the swimming pool. Depending on the initial TDS reading, we can predict how long the process will take to lower the TDS and calcium levels to below what can be obtained from the tap. There is no downtime during the process and the surface of the swimming pool is never exposed.

Just last week we processed a 10,000-gallon above ground swimming pool and want to share the results with you.

Initial Chemistry

Calcium Hardness – 750 parts per million (ppm)

Total Dissolved Solids – 3750ppm

CYA – 80ppm

After filtering this swimming pool for 8 hours we were able to leave them with the following ending chemistry that is better than Dallas tap water.

Ending Chemistry

Calcium Hardness – 150ppm

Total Dissolved Solids – 800ppm

CYA – 0ppm

This service allows us to provide the best solution to remove Calcium Hardness and Total Dissolved Solids from all swimming pools, residential or commercial. As pool water evaporates and time passes, your relaxing, inviting swimming pool becomes more work to maintain and the water becomes less sanitary.

In less than a day (residential pools), our mobile filtration unit will lower or remove the Total Dissolved Solids, Calcium, excess Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid), Phosphates, Nitrates, Viruses, etc. We will give you back a clean, healthy pool; all while conserving nearly 85% of your existing water. Your pool will be as pure as if you had filled it with bottled drinking water!

Importance of Balanced Pool Water Chemistry

Pool service Dallas

Swimming Pool Water Chemistry Is Important

If you own a swimming pool in the Dallas area, there are numerous benefits that can be enjoyed but it all starts with proper/balanced swimming pool water chemistry. Simply put, whether you are leisurely swimming in the pool, hosting a barbecue, or exercising, having one is a luxury in our warm climate. Between our extremely high temperatures, humidity, and wind, they can be a lot more challenging to maintain and if you don’t know what you’re doing it can be a disaster for you! A majority of swimming pool owners think brushing the interior finish and tile, skimming all the debris out, vacuuming from time to time and balancing water chemistry is enough but it takes more than that. Swimming pools should be maintained at least once a week (if not more during summer and after storms) to keep them looking great and ready to swim in. If you have a swimming pool in an area with lots of trees, skimming out the debris daily would be recommended! In short, on a weekly basis, the water tile line and interior finish of the swimming pool should be brushed to prevent calcium buildup and dirt which can cause staining. Debris should also be skimmed out of the swimming pool immediately as it can change the water chemistry and could cause excess use of chlorine or an increase in your phosphate levels.

Maintaining Proper Water Chemistry

If you want to prevent algae growth and keep your pool looking great, maintaining proper swimming pool water chemistry levels is vital. During the summertime in Dallas, algae will develop rapidly in your pool if your chlorine levels are too low or if you aren’t filtering the water long enough. That’s why checking water chemistry once a week is vital. The following is a breakdown of appropriate water chemistry:

Chlorine: 3-5ppm (summer) and 1-3ppm (winter)

pH: 7.4 – 7.8

Total Alkalinity: 80 – 120ppm

Cyanuric Acid: 30 -50ppm (check the manual if you have a salt pool)

Calcium Hardness: 200 – 400ppm (which is hard to achieve in Dallas)

Balancing your water isn’t complicated. Your water is constantly changing, year round especially with the increase in swimming. The weather, body oils, suntan oils, dirt, cosmetics, and urine affect your water chemistry. Continuous filtration and disinfecting will remove contaminants which keep the water enjoyable, but please note, it does not balance your water chemistry. A pool is considered balanced when it has proper levels of chlorine, pH, Total Alkalinity, Cyanuric Acid (CYA), and Calcium Hardness. That is why monitoring the swimming pool regularly is extremely important.

During storms which frequent the Dallas area, you will need to monitor your pool more. Skimming out debris and removing them from the skimmer as well will allow for proper filtration and prevent major changes in water chemistry. Some pool professionals will recommend turning on your filter before a storm approaches to keep the debris moving into the skimmer. But, please note you will want to make sure the skimmer is free of debris which means it should be emptied after a storm. Maintaining a pool with a lot of swimmers and our extreme heat can be challenging. That’s why Weber Pools services not only residential pools but commercial pools as well. If you should have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us today!

Got High Calcium Levels In Your Swimming Pool, You’ve Got Problems

Puripool Weber Pools

Don’t Drain Your Swimming Pool, Recycle Instead With Puripool

When it comes to owning a residential or commercial swimming pool, there are many dangers of having high levels of Calcium Hardness (CH) levels in your swimming pool! When it comes to calcium in tap water there are certain places in the country that have much more than others. Dallas and San Antonio are definitely some of them. In those places, the calcium coming out of the tap water is on the higher end of what is recommended for a swimming pool but it’s important to note that swimming pools need a certain amount of calcium to keep the interior finish intact. It is when those levels get too high that challenges occur. For swimming pools, the standard and recommended amount of Calcium Hardness (CH) in the swimming pool industry are between 200 – 400 parts per million (ppm) but in our area, the calcium levels coming out of the tap is 300ppm and higher! The challenges for residential and commercial swimming pool owners is when calcium levels get too high in their swimming pool. When these levels continue to climb scaling occurs on the water tile line, the interior finish, filtration equipment, decorative water features, spillways, and salt chlorinators (if you have one). It can also be challenging to manage the water chemistry too! If you happen to have a saltwater chlorinator, high levels of calcium hardness will prevent it from functioning properly and if any of this occurs it can not only be tough to look out but also expensive to remove. So, swimming pool owners should think about changing out the water in their swimming pools every couple of years!

So what happens when calcium levels get too high? The simple answer is it must be lowered from the swimming pool water. At this point you can choose to drain and refill your swimming pool which takes 2-3 days, it can damage your interior finish and you will be filling it back up with Dallas’s hard water or you can recycle it using The Puripool Process.  At Weber Pools, we offer Reverse Osmosis (RO) mobile filtration to lower Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), phosphates, salts, and waterborne diseases without draining the swimming pool. This service puts drinking quality water back in your swimming pool and you can swim in the pool while it is being filtered. Not to mention, we conserve up to 85% of the existing water in the swimming pool which is great for water conservation.

As a residential or commercial swimming pool owner, if you want to swim in the best water quality this summer the answer is simple…. Weber Pools is committed to providing you with not only excellent water quality but also water that is more fun to swim in. If you should have any questions about how our service works, please contact us today!

Swimming Pool Auto Fill Installation Can Save You Time and Money!

Pool Auto Fill Installation at Weber Pools

As a residential and commercial swimming pool owner do you still drag a hose out to your swimming pool to fill it up every couple of days? If you live in extremely hot climates it might even need to be done more than that! There are many things that Weber Pools can do to make your job easier and adding an auto-fill is one of them. We’ve heard a lot of swimming pool owners complain about dragging out the house, having to sit around waiting for it to fill up and even mention the dreaded, “what do I do when I’m on vacation?” Well, if you don’t want to bother your family, friends or even your next-door neighbor installing one today will definitely make your life easier!

They are relatively easy to install, they can save you time and prevent your water level from getting too low. They take a headache out of the worry about your water levels when you aren’t around and are relatively inexpensive to install. Here are some of the benefits of owning an auto-fill:

  • Water regulation is optimized through leveler systems
  • Wasted water is kept to a minimum
  • Because it is automatic, it diminishes the need to check water levels weekly
  • Works on its own
  • Leveler systems maximize water usage

Water loss can be detrimental to your pool once it becomes extreme (summer time). First, water loss can shift the balance of pool chemistry and ultimately affect the cleanliness and quality of your water. Additionally, water loss can cause damage to the rest of your pool equipment once it falls below the skimmer inlets and the air is sucked into the system. If this isn’t caught soon enough it can cause damage to your filtration equipment!

Automatic swimming pool water leveler systems are designed to automatically adjust the water level of swimming pools. A pool leveler is a great addition that protects your investment. You can either have one installed or some you can buy in the pool store. Either way, we highly recommend them for peace of mind and to protect your investment. The Proper Way to Test Water Chemistry In Your Pool

If you enjoy taking care of your own swimming pool, are you testing the water chemistry correctly and accurately? The two major choices you have when it comes to testing your water are either test strips or using the drop test method. At Weber Pools, we recommend Taylor swimming pool test kits for the best accuracy. Whether or not you take care of your swimming pool, you should familiarize yourself with Taylor test kits! In today’s swimming pool industry there are a variety of ways to test chemistry levels in your swimming pool and we highly recommend Taylor swimming pool test kits first. Taylor test kits are going to be the most reliable and frankly, the only way to go. With that said, we hope that this blog post gives you some understanding of why buying a Taylor pool test kit will always be the way to go. Not to mention, making sure your weekly pool service uses this type of test equipment too!

Taking a water sample into a pool store will always be the easiest but there are so many variables that can make that more challenging. For example, it takes time out of your day to drive there, depending on where you go the person testing your water might not be very well educated and it has been proven that if you go to a variety of different pool stores, you are most definitely going to get a variety of answers. That’s why we feel it’s extremely important that you know how to test the water.  Using Taylor swimming pool test kits will make your life a lot easier, you are going to get the most accurate results, and those results will equate to a much better pool experience. With Taylor test kits you can test for Calcium Hardness (CH), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA), chlorine, pH, Total Alkalinity (TA), and so much more!

Do to the wide range of colors and numbers it will allow for the highest level of inaccuracy.

Taylor test kits for swimming pools have been around since the late 1960’s, but the company has been around since 1930. They are extremely popular in the industry and have a wide range of testing products. One of the biggest benefits of using these test kits is they use titration for testing accuracy. This is where you will count the drops used, instead of relying on a visual color comparison which provides a larger range of miscalculation. This will give you the most accuracy when it comes to reading numbers.

Keep in mind, you will have options when it comes to testing kits and we want to help you find what is best for you and your swimming pool needs! If you have any questions on why we choose Tayor swimming pool test kits, contact us today at 800-535-0778

Making Swimming Pools Safe!

At Weber Pools, we are extremely concerned about swimming pool safety and that’s why we want to share a variety of tips on how to make your swimming pool safer. First and foremost, swimming pools can be extremely dangerous for both children and adults and that is why we stress safety to not only our clients but residents of the Dallas Ft. Worth area too! There are many elements of danger that are associated with owning a residential and commercial swimming pool and we want to make sure we stress the tips for making them safer! To be honest, there are few things that are scarier as exposing individuals to unsecured swimming pools. The chance of injury or even death to children and adults increases when they have to live in such an environment. That is why it’s extremely important that you take these tips seriously and consider making any changes necessary to make your swimming pool safer for everyone involved.

  1. Provide constant supervision – This should go without saying… nothing is better than your eyes! Even though children have learned how to swim doesn’t mean they are drown-proof! Minimize all distractions and provide all layers of protection necessary! Supervision should occur with both children and adults. In the end, nobody should ever swim alone!
  2. Install a pool fence or barrier – Barriers and fences are secondary to supervision. Once the pool fence is set in place, it provides high tension that prevents children from finding their way into the swimming pool. As a parent or guardian, you must make sure the pool fence is locked and secure when entering and leaving the swimming pool. Keep any objects away from the fence that kids can climb on or help them get over it. Please note, even though you have a pool fence or barrier you should still be supervising anyone around or in the pool. Your eyes are truly the best defense!
  3. Teach your children how to swim – By the age of four, it is vital you teach your kids how to swim. Swimming lessons are instrumental in instructing the kids’ skills and getting them comfortable in the pool. Again, just because they know how to swim doesn’t mean they aren’t a risk of danger so watching them at all times is vital.
  4. Ensure children adhere to all pool rules – Rules for your pool should be understood by your kids. If you swim in public pools you must seek out posted rules so you are aware of what is expected. Whether this is a residential or commercial swimming pool, children should never run around the pool, and they shouldn’t roughhouse. If diving or jumping occurs, make sure the water is deep enough to prevent injuries.

Pools are fun! The pool should be enjoyable by all those involved but they require work to make them safe. Ultimately, our concern is that all risks are kept to a minimum. Remember, always supervise anyone in the pool and if you should have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us today!
