Swimming Pool Water Quality

Cryptosporidium and Swimming Pools

Do you frequent commercial swimming pools or pools with numerous bathers? If you aren’t concerned about the water you’ve been swimming in, you should be. Swimming in excellent quality water is always critical but just because the water is blue and clear to the naked eye doesn’t mean it’s always safe to swim in. Weber Pools is a premier Dallas pool service administered by a staff with decades of experience in the industry. We are a Certified Pool Operator that serves the greater Dallas / Fort Worth area. We are literally a one-stop-shop for all your pool needs — whether that consists of pool cleaning, repair or general pool maintenance. We specialize in both residential and commercial swimming pools. As for commercial pools, we work well with numerous management companies of some of the largest luxury developments in the DFW area. Weber Pools is familiar with the property management process, and we carry the current pool service licenses and insurances required by most commercial facilities. In addition, we also are aware of all the current and ever-changing health department swimming pool requirements and processes.

When it comes to quality, we take it very seriously. We pride ourselves on working with numerous commercial properties and we understand due to the number of bathers the risks are higher! Everyone who hires a service company always wants quality but this also pertains to the water as well. We are committed to our service and to make sure your steps, benches, and interior finish of your swimming pool are brushed and free of debris. Emptying the skimmer basket and pump basket along with skimming the surface of the pool to make it look clean always happens. If needed, vacuuming is also regularly performed. Next comes balancing your water chemistry and that means making sure there are adequate amounts of chlorine and balancing your pH and Total Alkalinity (TA) too. But even when all of these are done, it doesn’t mean that the water is safe to swim in. This is where things can get confusing because even when the pool looks great and the chemistry is correct, there still can be issues and they might not be detectable with standard water tests.

In commercial pool water have you ever noticed the number of time kids and even adults spend in the water without getting out? If this doesn’t make you think about the water you’re swimming in please note, the possibility of people urinating and defecating in the swimming pool is a strong possibility. With that said, here are some precautions you should always take when you are ready to swim:

  • Rinse off before and after you swim
  • Never drink the water
  • If you see someone urinating or defecating in the pool, let someone know and exit the pool immediately
  • If you feel sick after swimming (intestinal) call your doctor and get tested for waterborne diseases

Another way you can make sure you are swimming in the best quality of water is by having Weber Pools recycle your swimming pool water with our mobile filtration system (The Puirpool Process). We offer Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration for swimming pools. This process lowers Calcium Hardness (CH), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Cyanuric Acid (CYA) and removes waterborne diseases without draining the swimming pool. The Puripool Process provides your swimming pool with drinking quality water for swimming in. If you’re interested in knowing more or having us test your water, contact us today!
